Spot the missing guardrail

Six things that went wrong in an agent workflow. For each, which was missing?

Case 1

A new card setting was added. The agent guessed the property name, and Desktop refused to open the report.

Case 2

The agent proposed a change and built it straight away, before you'd read the proposal.

Case 3

While tidying up, the agent overwrote the frozen file that was submitted.

Case 4

An info button was dragged out of its group. Nobody noticed for three builds.

Case 5

Everything passed, but every explanation tooltip was blank on the day of the demo.

Case 6

A tile broke sometime this week. There were forty edits since, and no way to tell which one did it.

Build it

Build your harness

Switch guardrails on. Each one closes off one of the six cases. Try to reach a full .

The idea

No single guardrail is the harness

The is the most visible part, because it prints 1,533 green checks. But it can't stop a bad action, can't see data, and can't tell which week a tile broke. Each guardrail covers what the others can't: seed for the format, stop points for your judgement, for the unrecoverable, the validator for the files, Desktop for what people will see, git for going back.

That's the approach this series set out to show: let the agent be fast and flexible, and build the harness so it doesn't matter when it's wrong.
